What is Autism?
Autism spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder that manifests itself with limited and repetitive behavioral patterns, with difficulties in social and communicative areas. Almost one out of every 50 children is diagnosed with autism. Recognizing the symptoms of autism spectrum disorder at an early stage ensures that the educational support to be given to the child and family is in the early stages. Support given in early childhood allows the autism symptoms to decrease or disappear. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children be evaluated for autism symptoms with autism-specific tools at 18 and 24 months.

Children with autism do not respond to their name, avoid making eye contact, do not take care of other children, do not try to attract their parents’ attention for social purposes, do not imitate, play on their own, act as if they are in a different world.
A parent-based interaction program should first be offered to every child with suspected autism diagnosis. NeuroPLAY is the only program developed by Dr Barış Ekici and his friends in this field in our country.
Autism is a neurological brain disease. Metabolic Tests, EEG showing brain waves and Genetic Examinations should be performed for every child diagnosed with autism.
